Indications: It has broad spectrum of activity and is the drug of choice for superficial eye infections. Contra-indications: history of hypersensitivity to chloramphenicol, myelosuppression during previous exposure to chloramphenicol and in patients with a family history of blood dyscrasias including aplastic anaemia. Side Effects: transient stinging Dose: apply eye drops or eye ointment every 3 hours. |
