Indications: trigeminal neuralgia, epilepsy. Has no effect on other types of headaches. Caution, ContraIndications & Side Effects: see carbamazepine under drugs used in psychoses & related disorders. Dose: 100 mg once or twice daily at start and then gradually increased until the best effect is obtained. Usual maintenance dose is 200 mg 3-4 times daily; max. 1.6 g daily in some patients. |
