Indications: vertigo and hearing disturbances in labyrinthine disorders. Cautions: asthma, peptic ulcer; pregnancy and breast- feeding. effect of betahistine theoretically antagonised by antihistamines Contra-indications: phaeochromocytoma Side Effect: gastro-intestinal disturbances; headache, rashes and pruritus. Dose: 8-16 mg 3 times daily, preferably with meals, increased as necessary to a max. of 48 mg daily. |
